Nama Chemicals resumes operations at caustic soda unit after fire

Nama Chemicals Company said on Tuesday that its caustic soda prills unit of its affiliate, Arabian Alkali Company (SODA), resumed its operations on Tuesday after repairing damages caused by a fire.

A contractor had to install a new prills’ size control devise after the fire, the company said in a statement to the Saudi bourse, Tadawul.

 Nama Chemicals announced in November that a limited fire had hit the caustic soda prills unit of its affiliate, Arabian Alkali Co. ,located in Jubail Industrial City.

The company 
had estimated about SAR 11 million in losses, which were reflected in financial results of Q4-2014, according to data compiled by Argaam.
