Horizon Food names Sultan Alharbi as CEO

Horizon Food Co. announced appointing Sultan Alharbi as CEO, effective as of Feb. 1, 2024, according to a statement to Tadawul.

 

Alharbi has specialized practical experience in the field of food for more than 30 years. He has recently worked at Almarai Co. since 2012, and the last position he held was general manager of the Eastern Region.

 

Moreover, he worked as Regional Manager at the National Agricultural Development Company (NADEC) from 2004 to 2010 and as a Regional Manager at Savola Group from 1998 to 2000.

 

Alharbi holds a diploma in sales and marketing from the Institute of Public Administration in the Kingdom, in addition to several specialized courses in marketing and management.

 

On Sept. 27, 2023, Horizon Food’s board of directors terminated the contract of CEO Mohammed AlShetwey, effective as of the decision date.

 

The company’s shareholders agreed on Jan. 7 to file several liability lawsuits against the former members of the board of directors, namely Muneer Ghazwi, Mohammed Bindayel, Alwaleed Alshathri, and former CEO Mohammed AlShetwey (jointly or individually), according to Argaam's data.

 

In a separate statement, Horizon Food said that the board approved by circulation restructuring the audit committee to be as follows: Abdul Majeed Al-Rashudi (Chairman), Khaled Al-Rabiah (member), and Issam Al-Sugair (member).

 

The term of the committee members will begin from the date of their appointment and end with the end of the current board term on March 1, 2027, the statement added.
